When & Where Do We Meet?
We meet in the Streetlight Centre, in Stone Lane, Wimborne, BH21 1HB.
Coming out of Wimborne on West Borough, turn left at the traffic lights onto Stone Lane, then the Industrial estate is the second turning on the right (look out for the brown sign on the lampost). The Streetlight Centre is the third large warehouse building on the left. There is parking outside the main front doors, as well as in the parking bays backing onto the wall at the back.
On Sunday afternoons we welcome everyone to gather with us at 4.30pm in the cafe of the StreetLight skatepark centre in Stone Lane, Wimborne. We start with coffee, juice and cakes and a chance to get to know each other and chat. Then we take seats in the cafe area and join for 45 minutes of discussion, music, watching multi-media, a short talk and a chance to think through issues that matter. We might consider short answers to big questions or maybe look at the Bible. There will be men, women and teenagers taking part and leading the discussions. There will be no pressure to join in singing, to pray or stand up. It won't look like a traditional service and it won't include any religious jargon. Is it Church? It is a coming together of people who are interested in faith, but it is not a traditional church and there won't be a formal service.
This is a chance to explore, discuss and investigate in a relaxed and open environment.
Currently we will not be doing 360
Tuesday evenings between 5pm and 7pm The Streetlight Centre and The Point join together to run an under 14's Bible study, called Off the Park. At this study the young people get to explore faith, what it means to them and how it fits into their lives. They also get plenty of chance to Skate in Streetlight's indoor skate park. For more details check out :
On alternate Wednesday evenings between 8pm and 10pm The Point holds a Bible study for those who want to delve deeper into the bible, getting to the grips with what the Bible is saying to us. We run this as a discussion based study giving everyone a chance to share their thoughts and beliefs.
Alternate Thursday nights The Point has a soup and prayer evening called "More that just soup". This is an evening where we come together to share a meal of soup and bread, then have a time for prayer. You are welcome to come for just soup, or to stay also for the prayer time. We use our prayer time to pray for each other, the local community and the world.
Sunday is a chance to come and learn more about the Christian faith, community and how they both interact together. We meet at 4.30pm at The Streetlight Centre and spend some time socialising, sharing free tea, coffee and cakes. There is always live music as well as a short talk exploring what the Christian faith has to say about relevant issues.
To find out more about any of these events or if you would like to know more about The Point and its work, please contact us on any of the details on the contact page. We would love to welcome you to any of our events!
What Goes on Each Day of the Week?
We welcome all ages and are particularly keen that kids feel welcome and belong. Children in school years 1-7 will normally stay in the main gathering for the first twenty minutes, then move through to the skate park for a fun session of activities, a run-around, games, crafts, stories as well as time to discuss and chat. Children under 3 can enjoy the ball pool and soft play area right beside our main meeting whilst still being with their parents. Noise is never a problem!
