ABOUT US

Our Aim: Explore Faith And Experience Community

We are a group of Christians who are serious about our faith, live in Wimborne and want to create an authentic community.  We strive to live life in all its fullness, following the principles of the Bible and growing in our relationships with Jesus. We want to create meetings that are open to others who may be interested in exploring faith, but who may  not be keen or confident to walk into a traditional church service. If you have a question, are intrigued or just want somewhere you can relax with a good coffee,  then join us any Sunday.

Who are we?

Our Team

The Point is run by a large group of volunteers who help perform the day to day tasks that keep The Point running. Behind this group of volunteers is a leadership team of 16 Christians who organise and direct The Point; including a full time member of staff who also directs the youth and children's work program.  If you would like to join our volunteer team please see below.

We meet in the StreetLight skatepark

centre in Wimborne.

What Is Streetlight: Their Vision

“The vision of StreetLight is to work with local churches, schools, other organisations and individuals to be a community resource, initially focused around an indoor skate park and café, which provides a local facility that did not previously exist. StreetLight is an outreach project, seeking to share the gospel with young people, adults and families by actively demonstrating the Christian message to those who do not engage with ‘church’ and training others to do the same.”

Join Our Team

We love our volunteer team, they are what make The Point continue every week. We are always looking for more people to join our teams as it takes a lot to keep it all running.

We have all kinds of teams, and are in need of people to help. You do not need to have any training in these areas, just a heart to serve. The areas we are currently in need of help with are:

Music, Kitchen, Setup and Welcome and Audio/Visual.

If you feel like you could spare some of your time on a Sunday afternoon please come and see the work we do and talk to any of the team.

We agree with the statement of faith of the Evangelical Alliance- click here to read it.

We are part of Fresh Expressions. Three of our team are currently participating in the year long Dorset 'Mission Shaped Ministry' Course.
